Beginning February 9, the Figge will present the work of Alison Saar, a Los Angeles-based sculptor inspired by artistic traditions from the Americas to Africa and beyond. Saar’s sculptures use wood, glass, bronze, and found objects that serve as metaphors for issues of womanhood, aging, and race, creating a sense of primal intensity.
