Rob Wolfe from American Pickers TV fame has been buying, selling, bartering, swapping, and collecting "mantiques" for 40 years.  Now, Rob is bringing his passion for gas & oil, hot rods, and the vintage lifestyle to the Quad Cities at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa, on September 12-14, 2019.

This three-pronged event entitled Davenport Americana will have a vintage car cruise & show, petroliana auction, and gas & antique show.  For more information, visit www.davenportamericana.com or their Facebook page.

Rob Wolfe has assembled his friends, who sell some of the most unique items in the world, to come to this inaugural event.  At the Davenport Americana show, it features antique signs, neon, gas pumps, gas globes, and more.  If you have ever wanted to see some of the items that you see on American Pickers up close and personal, then come to Davenport Americana.

Petroliana Auction
Not only will spectators be able to purchase these pieces of history on site, there will also be a Petroliana Auction.  Route 32 Auction House from Indiana will auction over 400 items.  The primer mini auction starts on Friday evening, and the main attractions will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. This auction will feature items from $100 to $10,000 !  The auction will be indoors and there is no additional cost to watch the live auction.

Car Cruise & Show
For those that have seen the American Pickers TV show, they know that Rob loves to drive his vehicles.  His passion for driving for this event culminates with the "Cruise the Quad" car cruise on Friday, September 13.  This cruise, sponsored by Visit Quad Cities, will hit various points around the Quad Cities area, will be approximately 90 miles round trip, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Route information will be posted soon.)

After the cruise on Friday night, the "Flamin' '54 Chevy Scorcher" will be at the fairgrounds.  This 1954 Chevrolet is a flame-throwing beast, pushing flames 40 feet in the air!  Plan on seeing the Flamin' '54 in action just after dark.

Saturday, September 14 sees the return of the Dwyer & Michaels car show.  Parking for the show starts at 8 a.m.  In the past, around 600 cars have attended the Dwyer & Michaels event.

Exhibits & Demonstrations
Along with the car show, vendors, and auction, there will be live on-site demonstrations on how to make & repair vintage neon, a beginner demo on the art of welding (yes, there is an art to this craft),
and local auto paint legend, Hetz, will be doing demos on how to work with various paints for the DIY crowd, as well as an introduction to pinstriping demo.  All the demos will be Friday evening and
throughout the day on Saturday.  (Official times will be announced about one week prior to the event.)

Added to these demonstrations, live bands playing old school country (think Waylon & Willie), rockabilly (rock ‘n’ roll before the Beatles), and some classic 70’s style rock will be playing in the pavilion.

On display next to the pavilion will be a GM Futurliner.  Only 12 Futurliners were ever produced by GM.  Futurliners were custom-made buses that went around the country as part of a Parade of Progress before WWII, educating the public about the upcoming technological innovations.  This is a museum piece that only comes to select events around the country.  In fact, the last time a Futurliner was in the Quad Cities was about 15 years ago!  Seeing these center-driven masterpieces is a rare treat, typically reserved for museum visits.
