How does the world around you shape the way you see "race?" Break down the barriers of your own perception with the FREE EnVisioning Race art exhibition and movie showing at the Putnam on Thursday night, May 16!

Starting at 7 p.m., you'll take in works by local artists, each revolving around the idea of "race" and its impact.

Following this reception, visitors will be treated to the documentary What's Race Got to Do with It? which explores such issues as underrepresentation, the limitations of multiculturalism, social equity, affirmative action and how to make a difference.

After the film you'll want to dig deeper by joining a discussion on race in our community, led by Dr. Monica Smith, Augustana's first Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

EnVisioning Race is the final event in a series in connection with the temporary exhibit — RACE: Are We So Different? — which leaves the Putnam in less than a month. Learn more about this impactful exhibit here.
