Quad City Arts Art @ the Airport presents artwork by Michael Ryan, Brian Roberts, and Trent Foltz for the months of May and June, 2018
Ryan paints coloristic landscapes related to abstract expressionism. He uses oil paint in high key color to combine traditional landscape with modernistic color and texture.
Roberts is a stoneware artist inspired by many years of farm life. His stoneware sculptures reference the familiar architectural icons of the farm – silos, grain elevators, barns, and sheds.
Foltz spent fifteen years as a successful advertising photographer in St. Louis before returning to his hometown to raise his two boys in Illinois. The landscape he found there, however, was very different from the one he remembered. Wooden barns and fence lines were disappearing, making way for housing and business developments. It was at that point he decided to turn his camera to the great beauty of the Midwestern landscape before it disappeared.
Come see how these artists with three unique styles—each utilizing different media—are united by a shared fascination and admiration of the landscape and architecture of rural America.
Art @ the Airport in The Quad City International airport gallery is easy to find-just across from the gift shop and restaurant and before the security check-point. It never closes and you’ll pay just a dollar for parking.
