On June 8 - 16, 2019, museums throughout the Quad Cities region welcome visitors with fun-filled activities, discoveries, and exploration. Don't miss Quad Cities Museum Week and the 16 participating museums as they present special exhibits, events, and discounted admissions. New this year is a QC Museum Week Scavenger Hunt which can be found on the event website along with information on the Quad Cities Museum Geocache.
This year's Museum Week Participants include:
Buffalo Bill Cody Homestead – Mention Museum Week and receive buy-one-get one free admission.
Buffalo Bill Museum – Visit the new one room School House exhibit.
Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House – Music on the Lawn, June 12th at 6:30 p.m. Free admission. Guided tours June 12-14 at 2:30 p.m. free admission.
Colonel Davenport House – Celebrate Pioneer Days June 8-9 from 12-5 pm each day – admission charged. Guided house tours June 12-15 from 12 to 4 p.m. with $1 OFF adult admission. Kids 12 and under are free.
Dan Nagle Walnut Grove Pioneer Village – Ice Cream Social on June 9 from 1-4, free admission.
Davenport School Museum – Free tours offered during operating hours and last approximately 20-min. each.
Family Museum – Mention Museum Week and receive buy-one-get-one-free admission.
Figge Art Museum –Special activities, exhibits and promotions during this fun-filled week. Free admission on Father’s Day.
German American Heritage Center – Free admission during Museum Week and pre-register for a free historic walking tour on Saturday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Hauberg Center – Hidden Treasures of George Mann Neidecken Tours on June 8, 12 and 14 from 10 am-2 pm. Tours starting at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. Tickets $5.00.
Iowa 80 Trucking Museum - Admission is free. Explore an amazing collection of antique trucks and participate in a new Kids Scavenger Hunt on their Iowa 80 Trucking Museum App.
John Hauberg Indian Museum - New, temporary exhibit on the John Hauberg Museum in celebration of the 80th anniversary of its dedication. Learn about the role John Hauberg and the Civilian Conservation Corps played in creating this landmark. Learn about the amusement park and original lodge and participate in a children’s scavenger hunt.
Karpeles Manuscript Museum – Free admission with featured Gutenberg Bible exhibit – only 48 copies are known to have survived.
Putnam Museum & Science Center – Buy-one-get-one-free admission during Museum Week.
Rock Island Arsenal Museum – Free admission. Museum will be open for the entirety of Museum Week from Noon - 4 p.m. See the museum's newest exhibit that features the stories and contributions of the women that worked at Rock Island Arsenal through history.
The Sawmill Museum – The lumber industry comes alive on June 8 with the Lumberjack Festival, from 11 am-3 pm. Also, free trackless train rides Monday-Friday and 20% off gift shop items all week.
