Quad City Family Caregiver Conference empowering individuals and families in their role(s) as caregivers, by providing a venue to make the search for resources and information easier. Keynote speakers include: "Sex and Dementia: Navigating and Preparing for Change" Joe Sample, M.P.A., M.A. and "Meeting Alzheimer's: The Healing Power of Yes" Dr. Jade Angelica, MDiv., D.Min. Keynote speakers are chosen to enlighten, educate and reinforce caregiver self-help, enabling individuals and families to become more comfortable and stable in their role as a caregiver. The conference typically brings together 50-60 exhibitors (organizations/service providers/businesses) who display information about their services, and provide much needed resources & information. The event is FREE for caregivers!
According to the National Association for Caregiving (NAC), 8 out of 10 caregivers have requested more resources, information and support. Many are unprepared for the financial, emotional, and physical toll it can have on them. This year will mark the 9th annual conference hosted by Milestones Area Agency on Aging, St. Ambrose University, Unity Point Health-Trinity, Alzheimer's Association and Alternatives to fill that gap.
