Riverssance is a premier outdoor art festival annually held in beautiful Lindsay Park, the Village of East Davenport. Organized by MidCoast Fine Arts, over 80 artists will exhibit fine art works. Additionally, there is wine tasting of Tabor Wines, a children’s art activity tent hosted by Rivermont Collegiate and live local music organized by RME. Great food is available from Lagomarcino’s, Candy’s ribs and Streets of Italy Pizza.
Riverssance 2018 will be on Saturday September 15 from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, September 16 from 10 am to 4 pm.
This year’s Riverssance will be even better for two reasons, made possible through support from the Regional Development Authority. MidCoast has reached out to include more community members by offering admissions through 45 local social agencies. For the entire community, we will open the admission gates at no charge for the final 90 minutes of the event on Sunday.
Also new with RDA support, we have moved the presentation of the annual Harley Award to a 5:30 p.m. reception on Saturday, September 15, during Riverssance. The annual Harley Award honors an individual who has positively affected the visual arts and artists in the Quad Cities during his/her lifetime. This year's Harley Award honors Rachel Mullins for her visionary leadership in creating a community arts culture, her enthusiastic spirit and continuing passion for the arts. A St. Ambrose graduate, more on her background and Riverssance can be found on the MidCoast web site, midcoast.org
