Fr. Joncas, a priest, liturgist, and composer, is currently serving as Artist in Residence and Research Fellow in Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He is author and co-author of 6 books and over 250 articles and reviews. He was honored with the Pax Christi Award from St John’s Monastery and University, Collegeville, MN, along with Marty Haugen and David Haas. 

Fr Joncas' compositions are sung by congregations and choirs and ensembles around the world and across a wide variety of Christian traditions. One most well known of his hymns is “On Eagles’ Wings”, often played at funerals.
