Presented by Naurin Ahmad, M.D., UnityPoint Health
The Rohingya people are a voiceless community who are currently experiencing horrific attacks by the Burmese military in what the U.N. describes as “textbook ethnic cleansing”. It is estimated 1 million people have fled to neighboring Bangladesh to escape genocide. This is one of the world’s largest group of displaced people. The Rohingya refugee camps are without basic needs such as clean water, food, or sanitation. Numerous nonprofits and medical teams are traveling to the Bangladesh-Myanmar border to provide the basic human right of healthcare.
