Putnam Museum and Science Center
The Putnam is a place where people connect with history and ideas by doing, making and experiencing. Our educational offerings and special events are a complement to our hands-on exhibit galleries. There is always something new to discover and something for everyone at the Putnam! The Putnam’s newly reimagined Science Center Galleries features hands-on stations that make science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts fun for visitors of all ages.
Four Exhibit Halls, plus changing traveling exhibitions, stimulate everyone's imagination. Black Earth/Big River is an interactive display of ecosystems of the Upper Mississippi River Valley; Hall of Mammals lets you see and hear life-like African and Arctic animals in their natural settings; Common Ground: Our Voice, Our Stories explores the history of the Quad Cities region; and the World Culture Gallery which explores the mysteries of the world and includes a 3,000 year-old mummy.
The museum store features unique gifts for all ages. The Putnam is a proud member of Museums for All – offering $1/person admission for households (of up to two adults and three children) with the presentation of an EBT card from any state.
